We have not really discussed a lot about our project, which probably is leaving quite a few people wondering 'what exactly is Project Aether?' So far, all that is really known outside of the development team is that we are making an MMO and it will have a crazy, Steampunk, space-fairing setting. That... really is about it. Now, that is hardly anything to write home about. Sure, Steampunk is not a common setting, but I really do not believe that setting alone makes too huge of a difference in the long run. A fantasy game, a space game, a Steampunk game, could all end up with very similar mechanics and play-style over all. So, what exactly are we doing? Of course, as before, we are still in early development and a lot of basic design work is going on. However, we are also a lot further along than we were before. As such, I would like to start talking about our vision - that strange word that developers love to talk about, regardless of how meaningful it ends up being. Yet, vision is important, as it is, essentially, a key piece of the road map for a game's creation.
